Two heated oxygen sensors are fitted, one for each
Exhaust Manifold and a pair are also set at the
Catalytic Converter's outlets. Before taking out the upstream oxygen sensor, remove the negative
Battery Cable and link to the heated oxygen sensor and then use a tool such as Snap-On YA8875 or a crow foot wrench. Upon cooling the engine, cut off the negative battery cable, raise and lift the vehicle and first take off the wire connector, before removing the O2 sensors using the Snap-On oxygen sensor wrench (number YA 8875). When putting on the upstream sensors, first clean up the exhaust manifold threads with a 18 mm X 1.5 + 6E tap, add anti-seize compound like Loctite 771-64 to the threads of the reused sensor and tighten to 28 Nm (20 ft. lbs.). Match the orange sensor wire with the connector and attach the negative cable to the battery once more. For the downstream sensors, affix the O2 sensor, skip applying any new anti-seize compound to the threads, tighten to the recommended nine kg (20 lb.). ft.), secure the O2 sensor wire, lift the vehicle and finally reconnect the negative battery cable.
