  Before taking out and swapping the piston and connecting rod, take care of the Timing Chain first. Be sure to put marks where the rods and rod caps meet and if the arrows are not on the pistons, remember to mark the front face of the pistons for assembly. Pull out both connecting rod bolts and caps, then take the pistons and connecting rods out of the top of the engine as you stand on a protected area. Use matching piston pins, take the snap rings off the pistons and press the pins out. Emerge the piston from the connecting rod and see if the parts you can save are broken; replace them if they are. Review the rods for uneven twisting or bending, look at the state of the large end and use an oil stone to remove all minor imperfections. Examine the pin bore on the connecting rod's small end as you did for the other side. Check if the wrist pin in the piston can move easily and look for scuff marks or gouges on both the piston's surface and in its grooves. Installation should start by setting the piston on the connecting rod, pushing in the piston pin, then adding the snap rings. Only replace piston rings if necessary, then put the piston/connecting rod assembly into a ring compressor after applying light oil. With a wooden drift and a mallet, insert the piston into the cylinder and make sure the oil drilling in the rod is in the rod's bearing shell. The anti-twist locks belonging to the connecting rod bearings should be placed into the slots of the connecting rods and caps. Match the connecting cap's marks with the engine's, install the bolts, tighten them in three stages-first 5 Nm, second 25 Nm and last rotate them 90° clockwise. Make sure the engine can be turned easily before you set the timing chain in place again.

  First place the piston onto the connecting rod before you install them. After that, unzip the piston pin and install the snap rings. Always replace the piston rings when they need it. With a little oil on the piston, put the connecting rod assembly in a ring compressor and use a drift and mallet to drive the piston into the cylinder. Carefully put the connecting Rod Bearing shell with the oil hole onto the connecting rod and place the anti-twist locks from the connecting rod bearing shells into the matching slots on the connecting rod and connecting rod cap. Fit the rod caps with the marks, tighten the connecting rod bolts in three stages: to 5 Nm at first, then to 25 Nm and clockwise by 90° for the final tightening. Once you have tightened everything, see if the engine rotates easily and next install the Timing Chain.
