Chrysler Crossfire Pressure Plate Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Install and Adjust a Pressure Plate for Reuse on Chrysler Crossfire?
    A:
If the clutch cover is being kept, fit the adjusting ring to the correct point after releasing the spring pressure using an old Release Bearing or a short length of pipe with the clutch disc. After you put the clutch disc and clutch cover onto the Flywheel, place the cover's bolts loosely for now. Put the universal clutch alignment tool 1 in place as you line up the clutch disc with the flywheel and tighten the clutch cover bolts 1 a little at a time, each time turning them exactly 1 to 1 1/2 turns. When all bolts are in position, use an torque wrench to tighten them to 25 Nm (18 ft. lbs.). Once the tightening is complete, take out the clutch alignment tool 1 and put the transmission in position.
