After that, pull apart the wiring harness connectors near the back of the gearbox shaft and unscrew all three bolts. Shift the mechanism to disconnect the rod and then take out the mechanism from the car. After installation, hook the shift rod to the shift mechanism and keep it in place using the retainer clip. Drive the shift assembly into your vehicle and insert the bolt and tap in the other two, tightening them to 7 Nm (65 in. lbs.). Before pressing the new dashboard into place, secure the connector at the rear of the shift mechanism and add back the front center console and gear shift lever handle.
