Start your rear quarter panel and fender job by taking out the deck lid and lowering the convertible top. Get rid of the driver's door to find and disconnect the front bolt and unscrew the fuel filler neck only from the passenger side. After that, take out the tail lights and loosen the two bolts on the side near the fender that holds the rear quarter panel. Remove the deck lid alignment guide plate and the molding strip at the end of the quarter panel and rear valence line, as you don't need to take out the weather strip completely. Remove the rivets from the lower brackets of the rear quarter panel, moving the metal brackets along with them. Unbolt the nine screws that secure the rear quarter panel from the car and take it off. Begin by replacing the rear quarter panel on the vehicle and bolting it to the main body. Place the rivets in the lower brackets of the rear quarter panel with the transferred brackets and then add the deck lid guide plate. Tighten all the bolts joining the rear quarter panel to the valence to 3 N.m (30 in.lbs.), then put on the covering strip for the rear quarter panel and rear valence edge. Afterwards, insert the tail light access cover, add the fuel-filling neck only on the right side and connect the door.
