Remove the air inlet tube, the resonator and then disconnect the negative battery cable to service and repair the EGR valve. Then, pull out the electrical connector connected to the EGR valve and remove any screws holding the EGR tube on the valve at the rear of the right cylinder head. Following this, remove the screws that hold the EGR valve and clean each gasket surface, throw away the old gasket and clean the EGR passages if needed. Before final tightening, put the EGR valve in place with a gasket and fit the EGR tube and mounting screws too, all leaving them loose for now. Twist the EGR valve mounting screws into the cylinder head until the torque reads 31 Nm (275 in. lbs.) and tighten the EGR tube to valve screws to just over 11 Nm (95 in. lbs.). Mount the electrical connector onto the solenoid, add in the air inlet tube and resonator and then reattach the negative battery cable.
