  Examine every hose connection, including clamps and quick connect fittings, to check for completeness and leaks, and replace any cracked, scuffed, swollen hoses, and any rubbing against other components, or showing signs of wear. When replacing hoses for fuel-injected vehicles use only EFM/EFI hoses. Make sure that hoses don't come into contact with any components during the installation that could cause them to fail. Similarly, hoses must not contact any type of clamps or component which may cause abrasions or scuffing. Ensure that rubber hoses are routed properly to avoid heat sources. Use only original equipment or equivalent clamps with rolled edges that do not cut into the hose, with tightening to 1 Nm (10 in. lbs.) torque. Examine the hose connections and clamps/couplings/fittings for tightness and leaks. Replace any that are damaged or would become damaged and leak or fail. Never try to repair fuel lines or tubes which are made of plastic - only replace as necessary. Ensure that plastic fuel lines and tubes are properly routed so they do not get pinched. Never route plastic fuel lines and tubes near heat sources.
