Begin by looking at the O-ring seals on every injector before installing the fuel rail on a 3.8L engine and change any that are worn. Put a little clean engine oil on every O-ring and position the
Fuel Injectors into their matching cylinders where they were before. Attach the fuel injectors into the fuel rail with the retaining clips and make sure they are properly seated. First apply clean engine oil to the O-ring of each injector at the nozzle end, then set each injector nozzle down into the openings on the lower
Intake Manifold and seat them properly. Fix the fuel rail bolts and tighten them until they reach 12 Nm (106 in. lbs.). Insert and join the electrical harness connectors from the fuel injector harness onto the injectors. Fit the intake manifold in place and check the fuel line quick connector is properly attached so no fuel will drip onto the engine and catch fire. Connect the quick connect line for fuel to the fuel rail and place the clean air hose into the
Throttle Body. When all cables are done, connect the battery negative wire, tighten the nut to 5 Nm (45 in. lbs.) and use the scan tool ASD Fuel System Test to pressure the fuel lines.
