To service and repair the turn signal switch, first, open the hood and disconnect the negative cable from the battery. To remove the tachometer, you need to first remove the tilt steering column lever and the screws. After that, take off both the upper and lower shrouds from the steering column, and remove the lower fixed column shroud. Without removing the nuts loosen the nuts on the upper bracket of the steering column. Move the upper fixed column shroud to gain access to the rear of the multi-function switch. Using a tamper proof Torx Bit TTXR20B2 or equivalent, remove the tamper proof mounting screws. Then, gently pull the switch away from the column and loosen the connector screw, which will remain in the connector. Unplug the wire harness outfit from the multifunction switch. To install, connect the wire harness connector to the multi-function switch and tighten the connector screw to 2 Nm (17 in. lbs.). Place the switch and install the tamper proof mounting screws and tighten to 2 Nm (17 in. lbs.). Reinstall the fixed column shrouds (upper, lower) tightening to 0.3-0.8 Nm (3 - 7 in. lbs). Then tighten the screw(s) securing the tachometer to 3.7 Nm (33 in.lbs). At last, reattach the steering column tilt lever and reconnect the negative
Battery Cable.
