  Before servicing the high pressure sensor/switch, be sure to first pull the refrigerant out of the system. Next, cut off the negative cable from the battery and lift the vehicle so it's stable and supported. Unplug the engine wire harness from the circuit inside the high pressure cut out switch on the compressor back cover. Release the high pressure cut out switch by removing the main snap ring in the switch port with snap ring pliers and pulling the switch free. Either stick a plug into the switch port on the compressor's back cover or cover it with tape and then throw out the rubber O-ring seal from the high-pressure cut out switch. Before installation, wipe a new rubber O-ring seal with some clean R-134a refrigerant oil and fit it onto the high pressure cut out switch by using the right O-ring. Lift the tape from the switch port on the compressor back cover, fix the high pressure cut out switch into the port and place back the snap ring using snap ring pliers. Link the engine wire harness connector back to the high pressure cut out switch, raise the car slightly and hook up the battery negative cable once more. Then, evacuate the refrigerant system and start the recharging process as per the proper steps.

  For high pressure sensor/switch service, first isolate the negative Battery Cable, let out the refrigerant and raise the vehicle so you can get to the sensor. Unplug the wire harness connector from the terminal on the A/C high pressure switch at the back of the compressor. Remove the internal snap ring attaching the switch to the compressor, then get the switch out and toss away the O-ring seal. When putting the power switch in place, clear any junk from the mounting bore and eliminate any tape or wires at the switch's end on the compressor. Use clean R-134a approved oil to grease the new rubber O-ring seal and put it on the A/C high pressure switch. Insert the switch at the back of the A/C compressor and use snap ring pliers to snap the internal ring around it. Attach the wire harness connector to the switch, low the car as usual and reattach the negative battery cable. Then, evacuate the air from the system and add refrigerant.
