Installation of the camshaft should take place as the
Pistons are fully retracted. You should start with lubricating every camshaft bearing journal,
Rocker Arm and camshaft lobe. Put all your rocker arms back in place where they were if you are using them again. Set the camshafts on the bearing journals in the cylinder head and install caps Nos. 2 - 5 on the left cylinder head and right No. 6 on the right cylinder head, applying 12 Nm (105 in. lbs.) of torque following the correct order of M6 fasteners. Distribute Mopar(R) Gasket Maker on bearing caps No. 1 and No. 6, then put the caps into place and screw the M8 fasteners tightly to 28 Nm (250 in. lbs.). You should put the bearing end caps on before you add the seals. Apply CV-998306 when you are installing new camshaft oil seals. Afterward, fit the camshaft target magnet and insert the
Camshaft Position Sensor into the spark plug hole (3), then install the cylinder head cover. Next, place and anchor the
Timing Belt rear cover, tightening fasteners 1 and 2 and mount the
Timing Belt Tensioner (3). After that, screw the Camshaft Sprocket Holder 6847 (1) in place and use the timing belt to complete the installation.
