For battery service and repair, look first at the test indicator while the charger is plugged for this purpose, light green means it's good, but a dark batt shows charging is needed. Ensure the ignition key is out and that no accessories running on the battery are turned on. The first thing to do is disconnect the ground cable, then go ahead and remove the positive cable and bring out the battery from your vehicle. When the battery case is broken or has leaked, make sure to cover your hands with rubber gloves before moving it. If there is acid on the battery carrier, mix baking soda with warm water and use it with a stiff brush to wipe the spot, then wipe it all down clean with a damp cloth that has ammonia or baking soda in it. Disinfect the battery top as you did the rest of the area, with the same solution. If you see cracks on the battery case or cover, it's time to replace the battery. A good cleaning tool for the battery post should be used and a tool for cleaning the terminals should be inserted inside the terminal clamps. Deal with every frayed cable and broken terminal clamp before you attach the battery again in the vehicle. Afterwards, link the cables to the battery battery according to instructions and secure the clamp nut.
