Chrysler Sebring Seat Heater Switch Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Safely Service a Seat Heater Switch on Chrysler Sebring?
    A:
When working on a seat heater switch on a car with air bags, start by disconnecting and isolating the negative Battery Cable which will let the air bag system capacitor discharge after two minutes. We have to lock the steering wheel to avoid the air bag going off accidentally which can cause injury or death. Part of the heated seat switches is built into the Accessory Switch Bank Module (ASBM) and First, cut off the car battery's negative terminal cable and pull out the central bezel of the instrument panel. After that, remove all four screws holding the ASBM onto the back of the instrument panel center bezel and remove the ASBM.
  • Q: How to Maintain a Seat Heater Switch on Chrysler Sebring?
    A:
To maintain the seat heater switch, first turn off the negative Battery Cable. After that, remove the center console and unplug the wire harness connector from the connector receptacle on the back of the heated seat switch. Press down the retaining tabs and then pull the heated seat switch right out of the console. When setting up the switch, place the driver's side switch on the left and that for the passenger on the right. Link the center console wire harness to the back connector on the heated seat switch, see if the switch/system turns on and finally put in the center console. After that, connect the heated seat switch where the center console mounting hole is and connect the battery negative cable once again.
