Before repairing or servicing the convertible top motor, lower the top and remove the battery's negative cable. First, lift out the rear
Seat Cushion and rear seat back and after that, disconnect the pump's wire connection. Remove the motor assembly from the floor panel, holding it so that the reservoir is facing up and squeeze the fill plug to drain any air pressure. Draw a diagram of the lines and separate the hydraulic hoses from the pump before taking out the motor pump assembly. To install the hydraulic motor, place it in the vehicle and link the connecting lines to the pump, locking them down with torque set to 11 to 12 N.m (98 to 106 in.lbs.). Connect one end of the pump's wire to the negative terminal on the battery. Let the motor/pump bleed out, fill it up and check that the hydraulic pump is operating properly. Press the motor into the mounts and replace the rear seat cushion and rear seat back, checking that the rear seat back is not pinching or twisting the lines.
