Use only Mopar ATF +4 (Automatic Transmission Fluid) Type 9602 when changing both the fluid and filter in your automatic transmission. First, raise the vehicle on a hoist and have a container beneath the transaxle
Oil Pan as you drain. After loosening the bolts on the pan, hit one corner lightly to help the fluid leave the pan before you take it off. After that, loosen and remove all of the
Oil Filter-to-valve body screws and take out the old oil filter and its gasket. Change the filter, the gasket, wash the oil pan and magnet and after reinstalling the pan, apply new Mopar Silicone Rubber Adhesive Sealant and tighten the pan bolts to 133 inch lbs. Fill four quarts of Mopar ATF +4 through the dipstick, start the vehicle and let it idle for one whole minute. After you have applied the parking and service brakes, push the selector lever into each position for just a moment and stop it in Park or Neutral. After adding transaxle fluid to be 3 mm (1/8 inch) below the "ADD" mark, check the fluid again when the transaxle is hot (180°F). Do not lift the dipstick out of the transaxle during checks to keep it free of dirt. An alternative approach is to let the transaxle warm up fully, pick an appropriate tool and slide the suction line down the dipstick tube up to the lowest part of the pan for full draining. Once you've removed the suction line, insert the Mopar ATF +4 through the dipstick tube, start up the engine and check the level as you did with the previous procedure.
