Service and repair your brake drum by first hoisting the car, removing the tire and removing the wheel. Then, remove the cover plug from the brake shoe adjusting hole at the back. Insert the end of a small screwdriver into the brake hole and press the adjusting lever to keep it away from the slots in the star wheel. Then, pass another screwdriver through the same hole to engage the little soldiers in the star wheel on the brake adjusting screw and release the brake adjustment by driving the adjusting tool up. If you are having trouble removing the drum from the hub, put in M8 X 1.25 MM bolts into the holes on the drum to help it slide off. As you install, move the brake shoe assemblies so they are not in the way of the brake drum installation, then place the drums over the hubs and change the brake shoe placement. Position the wheel and tire again, screwing the wheel bolts in a proper order until each is torqued only to half spec, then repeat the action for the correct full torque of 135 Nm (100 ft. lbs.) After all this preparation, drive the vehicle down so the wheels are on the ground.
