How to Service and Repair a Thermostat Housing on Chrysler Town & Country?

Prior to servicing or repairing the thermostat housing, empty the cooling system, lift the car with a hoist and pull off the belt splash shield. Then, unhook the lower radiator hose from its angle in the inlet tube and, if there's one, remove the outlet/heater return hose for the engine oil cooler from the inlet tube as well. Take out the inlet tube bolts and then pull the inlet tube out of the engine, discarding its O-ring seal at the same time. Begin by wiping the O-ring sealing surfaces on the housing and the tube and then use Mopar Dielectric Grease or an alternative on the new O-ring and set it on the inlet tube before you start installation. Attach the inlet tube after which you should tighten the bolts to 28 Nm (250 inch lbs.). If the vehicle requires it, reinstall the lower radiator and heater hose, cover the drive belt splash shield and then lower the vehicle. After that, add liquid to the cooling system.
