The first thing to do when changing the rear washer pump/motor is to isolate and remove the negative battery cable. Take the engine fresh air housing out of the engine compartment, then separate the washer hose at the in-line connector in front of the cowl grille, so you keep the connector with the hose from the fresh air plenum. After, take the washer hose out from the hose clip on the fender's front shield and unmeger the filler tube screw. Set the car on a lift or supports, lift the right front wheel, remove the assembly and secure it safely. Remove the left right front wheelhouse splash shield and put it somewhere out of the way. Open the reservoir and drain the washer fluid into a properly labeled container by separating the hose from the pump and connecting a jumper hose. Remove the electrical connectors from the pump motors and level sensor by pushing the red lock up, pressing the black tab and taking out the connector. Unscrew the two screws securing the reservoir to the engine and disconnect the reservoir's body. Then gently raise the reservoir, position it downward to pull the hoses out of the front shield hole. To remove the pump, first pull the upper retention tab up, then lift the pump from the mounting grommet so you don't touch or rupture the reservoir. Don't use the old pump grommet and insert a new one while installing the new assembly. Press the pump upper retention tab into the slot, place the pump flat against the reservoir so the connector is facing skyward and set the pump square and firm in the bottom of the reservoir. Insert the filler neck and front washer hose into the cutout in the front fender side shield and after that attach the reservoir to the body mount by sliding it down. Place the two reservoir mounting screws and tighten them to 8.5 - 11.3 Nm (75 - 100 in. lbs.). After reconnecting the body harness, go to the washer pump motor ports and the fluid level sensor, secure the red lock in place. Be sure the hose for the washer reaches its spot without obstruction, reattach the left right front wheelhouse splash shield and fit the right front wheel and tire assembly into its spot. Take the car off the hoist, tighten the filler tube screw with 8.5 - 11.3 Nm (75 - 100 in. lbs. of torque), link the washer hose to the fender shield and near the cowl mount. After that, mount the engine fresh air housing, attach the negative cable from the battery and ensure the system is operating properly.
