Chrysler Voyager Parking Brake Shoe is one of the key components that define the sturdiness and efficiency of Chrysler manufacturing's car models, particularly minivans. Used to lock the wheels during instances of parking, this Parking Brake Shoe works in a way such that when the parking brake is on, it presses the lining of the brake against the wall of the drum thus destroying any possibility of the wheels rotating. Chrysler has applied different types of Parking Brake Shoe for its Voyager series from a certain period and those are developed for better performance and sturdiness. Parking Brake shoe carries a lot of importance in the Chrysler Voyager because it helps in controlling the car's movement once it is parked. Its applicability to the innumerable Voyager variants, particularly the sixth generation that rolled out in 2019 is an added bonus and underlines the car's significance in the Chrysler fraternity. The design and the material that has been applied in the Parking Brake Shoe makes it operational and distinguished in auto systems. The Chrysler Voyager Parking Brake Shoe, being a reputable auto parts brand, supplements the general functionalities of the vehicle while guaranteeing safe motility for the occupants. Looking to the future of Chrysler, the Parking Brake Shoe will always be remembered as a reflection of the company's dedication to providing the prime and safest vehicle for the Chrysler Voyager and solidifying the Voyager as a families and individual's minivan of choice.

Chrysler Voyager Parking Brake Shoe Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Maintain and Fix Parking Brake Shoes on Chrysler Voyager?
    A:
Put the parking brake on AWD models to hold in place and loosen the hub nut before doing any work. Lift the vehicle and take out the wheel and tire. First, remove the cotter pin, nut retainer, spring washer, hub nut and washer from the outer C/V joint's stub shaft for AWD. Free the parking brake, pull out the automatic adjuster, then secure the front park brake cable with a pair of locking pliers as you pull on it. After freeing the guide pin bolts, carefully support the disc Brake Caliper to keep the flexible brake hose from being harmed. Using a 1/2 wrench, squeeze and compress the locking tabs on the retainer that holds the park brake cable from the actuator and adapter. If you're working on AWD, unscrew the ABS wheel speed sensor head; if it's FWD, undo the secondary clip and push up on the metal part to release the sensor. Following this, take out the hub bearing from where it's bolted to the axle without damaging it. If not easy to get out, gently tap the disc brake caliper adapter with a soft-face hammer to separate the hub/bearing. Get rid of the adapter on the rear axle and hold it in a vise. Pull the lower return spring off, keep the hold down spring depressed and use a pin to hold the leading and trailing park brake shoes in place. Take both park brake shoes and the adjuster out of the adapter. Look at the park brake shoe actuator to make sure it is not worn or binding. The park brake shoe actuator goes inside the adapter, then the trailing brake shoe is put in with the hold down pin in the right place. Set the hold down spring and pin, then the upper return springs and leading park shoe and adjust them together. Slide the adjuster into the shoe area, then come the hold down spring and pin and the lower return springs. Place the adapter and hub/bearing over the axle and hold them tight with the four bolts. The hub/bearing should be seated and tightened to 129 Nm (95 ft. lbs.). After that, make sure the tire spin sensor is installed and attached to 12 Nm (105 in. lbs.) on AWD and on FWD, put the metal retaining clip in place as well as install the sensor head and secondary clip together. The park brake cable should be reinstalled after expanding its retainer's locking tabs and it attaches to both the actuator lever and the adapter. Release the locking pliers, straighten the park brake drum-in-hat brake shoes and put back the rotor. Thoroughly lower the caliper and brake shoes onto the rotor, being careful that you don't cross-thread guide pin bolts and tighten them to 35 Nm (26 ft. lbs.). To install AWD, start by cleaning the stub shaft threads on the C/V joint, install the washer over the hub nut and tighten to 244 Nm (180 ft. lbs.). Then set the spring washer, nut retainer and cotter pin in place. Put the wheel and tire back on, then tighten the wheel mounting stud nuts to 135 Nm (100 ft. lbs.) one at a time. Lower the carriage, apply and release the hand brake, pump the brake pedal several times and complete a road test to adjust the brake shoe linings.
