Dodge Caliber Ignition Lock Cylinder Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Install an Ignition Lock Cylinder on Dodge Caliber?
    A:
Before setting in the ignition lock cylinder, check that both the ignition module and actuator shaft in the lock housing are set to Run. Place the ignition module over pins 3 and actuator shaft and onto retaining tabs 2 of the lock cylinder housing, then click the module into place. Set up screw 1 and tighten it to 2 Nm (18 in. lbs.). Put the lock cylinder housing in the run position and place it against the steering column. Join the lock cylinder housing and the column with two screws and fix them in place at a torque of 12 Nm. Place the actuator in the lock cylinder housing if it's not in that place and then put the key in the key cylinder and turn it to Run. Rotate the tab on the key cylinder so it fits into the opening at the top of the lock cylinder housing and slide the key cylinder in until the tab snaps into its place. From Ok Off position, move the key to the Start position and move it back to follow the last step. Slide the Skreem/Wcm's ring over the lock cylinder housing and push the retainer fingers into the recesses in the lock cylinder housing. Add the screw inside the Skreem/Wcm, secure it by turning the entire assembly to 2.5 Nm and tighten it until it reaches 18 in. lbs. Use Thatcham security on your steering wheel and screw the cup over the cylinder to fasten it. After that, put the Sccm in place and insert all removed components, then test the operation of all steering column controls.
