  The first step in fix ing and repairing a parking brake shoe is to hoist the vehicle, making sure all safety precautions are followed. Should both sides have services, follow these steps separately for both sides. Take off and save the rear brake rotor (3). Turn the brake shoe adjuster wheel all the way in. First, release the upper return spring (1) from the pin (3) and the rear brake shoe, then take off upper return spring (2) from the pin (3) and the front brake shoe. Stand the brake shoe hold-down springs (1, 2) and pins perpendicular to the brake to get them out. Pull off the cable at the end of the parking brake lever on the back shoe. Lift out the assembly of brake shoes (2, 6), adjuster (5) and lower return spring (3) from the support plate at once. Whenever required, unhook the strut (1), take out the lower return spring (3) and remove the adjuster (5) from the shoes (2, 6).
