The process starts by raising your vehicle with jack stands or on a frame contact hoist and then taking off the wheel and tire assembly. Take out the 2 screws connecting the front channel bracket and grommet retainer to the outer frame ring. First, carefully remove the wheel speed sensor from the harness wiring and then pull both the sensor cable and connector through the strut tower hole using the hole's grommet. Simply undo the bolt connecting the wheel speed sensor to the
Steering Knuckle. If the sensor has corrosion and cannot be unbolted, hammer the sensor ear with a punch and rock it from left to right until it moves. Eliminate the wheel speed sensor cable grommets from the clamp after that, take the front wheel speed sensor assembly out. For the installation process, insert the whole cable through the grommet and into the tower hole, with the sensor's connector firmly and tightly fitted into the harness. During installation, prevent pressing the speed sensor cable into the channel bracket. Put the channel bracket and grommet retainer on the frame rail, secure them with 2 11Nm (95 inch lb.) bolts. Slide the grommets into the intermediate bracket on the strut, then run the cable from the strut through to the steering knuckle behind the stabilizer bar link. Affix the wheel speed sensor onto the steering knuckle using the bolt tightened to 12 Nm (105 inch lbs.). The air gap between the wheel speed sensor face and the tone wheel should be less than 1.2 mm or 0.047 inch. After that, fit the tire and wheel back and perform a trial run to check both the base brakes and ABS.
