How to Remove the Front Shock Absorber on Dodge Charger?

Avail yourself of the front shock tower cap by first pulling it out from the shock absorber's top if it is installed on your vehicle. After that, take out the three nuts that connect the shock assembly to the shock tower. Hold up the vehicle, then remove both the nuts from the wheel mounting bolts and the wheel and tire. The nut fastening the stabilizer to the shock must be removed first, before sliding the link ball joint stem free of the shock. Loose the bolt that secures the shock to the lower control arm. Cut the wheel speed sensor cable next to the brake tube bracket. Back off the nut attaching the upper ball joint stud to the knuckle, so that the stud ends flush, to ensure nothing gets distorted while using Special Tool 9360. Make sure the Puller is centered near the ball joint seal boot and push it through so force is applied between the stud and the knuckle. Unscrew the nut at the top of the upper ball joint stud, turn the top of the knuckle outward, be careful with the brake flex hose and remove the shock assembly from under the vehicle.

How to Maintain and Fix a Rear-Wheel-Drive Shock Absorber on Dodge Charger?

When servicing the rear shock absorber, first set it into the front suspension as if you were taking it out. Always torque the nut up tight so the ball stud joint is not damaged. Go below the piece of tubing that connects the upper and lower ball joint. Insert the upper joint stud through the top hole in the knuckle, slide on the nut and use the hex wrench to hold the joint as you tighten it. Set the torque wrench to 47 Nm and make sure it turns an extra 90 degrees for the right tightening of the nut with a crow foot wrench. After that, join the can clip for the wheel speed sensor cable to the brake tube bracket. Mount the lower shock bolt without twisting it in, just to secure the shock to the control arm. Notch the link ball stud into the front end of the shock assembly, slip the stabilizer link ball joint stem into it and secure the stabilizer link to the shock with the nut, making sure to hold the ball joint stud as you tighten the nut firmly. Screw the nut on with your torque wrench and a crow foot wrench until the reading is at 128 Nm. Replace the tire and wheel on the hub, using an Nm torque wrench to tighten the nuts by hand to 150 Nm or 190 Nm on police cars. Move the vehicle down gently and fit the three shock assembly nuts to the shock tower, turning them to 27 Nm. If you're using shock towers, fit the shock tower caps over the shock mounting nuts and click them secure.
