Take the inside trim panel away from the rear door and remove the watershield next. After that, remove both the door glass channel and the bracket. Pop open the latch link at the back of the door shell by snapping its plastic clip. Take the interior door latch lock link and knob unit out of the rear door. As before, go to the back of the door shell to unsnap the plastic clip that holds the interior door handle latch release link in place. Do this also for the exterior door handle latch release link. Removing the three screws locks the latch in place on the outer edge of the rear door. With all of the hinges out, the wiring can be easily unplugged after the latch on the door is unscrewed. Pull the latch forward to release and disconnect the wire harness connector on the door and then take it out of the interior of the door shell.

How to Properly Install a Front Door Latch Assembly on Dodge Charger?

Attach the door wire harness connector to the front door latch as your first step. Install the latch, so it faces the latch face on the inner front door shell and tighten the three screws to 12 Nm (108 in lbs.). Reach to the back of the driver side door shell and insert the link onto the lock cylinder actuator to the latch lever and then secure it with a plastic clip. After that, link the exterior door handle latch release link to the latch lever and hold it in place using the plastic clip, finally linking the interior door handle latch release link. Insert the interior door latch lock link and knob unit into the door, place its end into the latch lever and use the plastic clip to hold it securely in place. Manually push the upper screw into the pull cup bracket and put it into the keyed hole inside the front door. Fix and tighten the screw joining the bottom of the related bracket and the back of the window regulator to the front door inside to 11 Nm (100 in. lbs.), then tighten the screw that holds the other bracket to 10 Nm (90 in. lbs.). Place the watershield, speaker and trim panel on the inside of the front door. Use a wrench through the slot on the outer latch to turn the latch's adjusting screw, move the door release handle fully a few times and then tighten the screw again.
