Disconnect the negative
Battery Cable and drain all the fuel to start service on the filler tube. Take the retaining wire from the inside of the filler tube rubber and open the filler tube door. Then, push and gently squeeze to remove the rubber from the metal. Support the vehicle and then take off the left rear tire and the left inner splash shield. Take off the filler tube vent line, lift out the filler tube mounting bolt and then remove the underbody splash shield. Loose the hose clamp only enough that it still holds the filler tube and tank snugly and slide it toward the
Fuel Tank prior to taking the assembly from the vehicle. Place the filler tube in the fuel tank rubber hose and make sure the groove of the filler tube rubs against the body sheet metal, then hug the hose with the clamp and secure it. Install the filler tube mounting bolt and then connect the filler tube vent line, before fitting the factory underfloor pan and left side inner splash shield. Replace the left rear tire, bring the vehicle back down and pull the filler tube rubber into the open part of the body, so the sheet metal is inside the rubber groove. Set the wire in the groove at the center of the inside of the tube rubber and shape it in place before fitting the wire retainer. Afterward, link the negative battery cable back and fill up the tank with fuel.
