Service the pilot bearing by first taking off the transmission, the transfer case if necessary and the clutch housing. After that, remove the clutch cover and disc. Eliminate the pilot bearing by using a blind hole puller that is right for the job. When installing bearings, apply solvent to clean the bearing bore and remove it by drying with a clean towel. Straighten the bearing while installing it with a clutch alignment tool to avoid it becoming cocked. Push the bearing into its hole until its edge is at the same level as the hole's edge and there is no indent. When ready, install the clutch cover and disc, after that securing the clutch housing, transmission and transfer case if you have it.
