Begin the servicing and repairing of Power Trunk and Liftgate Lock Actuator by first disconnecting and isolating the battery negative cable. To remove the power lock motor from the liftgate inner panel trim, take out the two screws through the inner trim. Then remove the inner trim. Enough space should be created through the hole in the liftgate inner panel to pull out the power lock motor from the liftgate, so as to disconnect the liftgate power lock motor pigtail wire connector from the liftgate wire harness connector. Inorder to disconnect the link from the liftgate latch link clip, lower the power lock motor and remove the motor from the liftgate. To install, position the liftgate power lock motor into the liftgate through the access hole in the liftgate inner panel. Insert the liftgate power lock motor link into the liftgate latch link clip, and snap the clip over the link. Reconnect the pigtail wire connector of the liftgate power lock motor to the liftgate wire harness connector, position the motor within the liftgate inner panel, and install and tighten the two screws securing the power lock motor to the liftgate inner panel to 3 Nm (30 in. lbs.). Put back the trim panel on the liftgate inner panel and connect the battery negative cable.
