Begin by guaranteeing the seat structure is not carrying major weight and inspect for anything like a loose locking pawl, pawl being engaged in the seat frame or missing or broken shear pins; if you see these, change the whole height adjuster assembly straight away rather than try to repair it. With the front tilt motor, place it on the seat adjuster and secure it with fasteners tightened to 5 Nm (44 in. lbs.), attach the motor's electrical connector, install the
Seat Cushion, secure the wire harness on the cushion pan, put the seat assembly into place, attach the battery's negative cable and check that everything works correctly. To adjust the height, move the seat adjuster to its fully up position, fit the motor on the adapter, add the motor shaft screw and washer, set the bottom screw to 9 Nm (80 in. lbs.) and the screw in the middle near the motor shaft to 6.5 Nm (57.5 in. lbs.). Connect the motor's wire harness next, set up the seat cushion, connect the cable running from the motor to the seat cushion with an attachment clip, insert the seat assembly into the car, link the negative battery cable to the seat motor and test the normal functioning of the seat assembly.
