A Fuel Tank Lock Ring may be insignificant but it protects that performance with a clamped module that presses the pump module against the tank opening squeezing the gasket to prevent vapor escaping and holding the pressure. Once your Dodge requires a new Fuel Tank Lock Ring the task has a straight path. Park somewhere open, disconnect the battery cable and depress the fuel pressure. Place a jack under the tank, drop it low enough to get to the module, and wipe the dirt around the flange. Install a new O-ring, position the pump tabs into the tank slots, install the Fuel Tank Lock Ring and rotate it using the locking tool until all the notches have been clicked. Connect hoses and wires, hoist the tank back, fasten straps, reconnect power, press the key switch to prime, and watch to see whether there are drips, and your Dodge is back in the road.
