Service the throttle cable and linkage by lifting the accelerator pedal from the inside, removing the plastic retainer from the cable core wire and pulling the core wire out of the pedal arm. After that, remove the cable core wire from the pedal arm. Hold the retainer on both sides at the dash panel and pull the whole cable housing into the engine compartment. Remove the tube at the top of the throttle body. Using the specified engines, open the throttle by hand and, at the same time, pull back on the throttle cable behind the pin at the lever. Press your small screwdriver against the release tab at the throttle body mounting bracket and push it forward, making sure to remove only the cable from the housing. Once that is done, lift the housing straight up. Attach the cable end to the lever pin and, for V-8 models, make certain the cable runs under the plastic cam. Then, lock it into the throttle body bracket by pressing down as much as needed during the installation. Add the remaining end of the cable housing to the dash panel opening until it clicks in place. Following this, thread the ball side of the cable wire through the hole on the pedal arm, hold it with the plastic cable retainer and line it up alongside the index tab. After all that, check out the throttle and run some tests before putting the air tube directly into the throttle body again.
