How to Service and Repair a Gas Cap on Dodge Neon?

Before doing any service on the gas cap, first unscrew the fuel tube cap. Following this, get rid of the gas neck screws and lift the car to a safe, rested position. After removing the splash shield near the wheel well, separate the fuel fill vapor tube from and the gas tube from the tank. Take off the ground strap from the body and remove the gas neck. Installation should begin with the gas tube, then include the gas neck screws and finally end by installing the plastic filler cup. Reattach the fuel fill vapor tube and couple the gas tube to the fuel tank's opening, making sure the clamp is secure. Slide the ground wire onto the body, lower the car and end by installing the gas cap.

How to Replace the Gas Cap and Relieve Fuel Tank Pressure on Dodge Dakota?

Make sure to use an exactly identical cap as the replacement for the 1/4 turn gas tank filler tube. Before removing or draining any fuel system component, be sure to remove the gas tank filler tube cap to release pressure from inside the tank.
