How to Service and Repair a Brake Proportioning Valve on Dodge Grand Caravan?

Before you take the brake tubes out, first lock the brake pedal with a depressor and then move it an extra 1 inch. Lift up the vehicle and clean every section of the proportioning valve and brake lines well. Pull out the four brake lines at the inlet and outlet ports on the proportioning valve, then undo the two bolts holding the proportioning valve and bracket to the vehicle. Pull the bracket out from below the rear track bar bracket, lower the valve enough to remove its actuator rod from the axle bracket and remove the proportioning valve from your vehicle. Place the brake line fitting into the actuator rod, threading the rod through the hole inside the axle bracket hub and slide the proportioning valve bracket beneath the rear track bar body bracket. Bolt the proportioning valve in place and ensure you tighten each bolt to 54 Nm (40 ft. lbs.). Pull the brake line connector into the inlet and outlet ports on the valve. Tighten all the tube nuts to 17 Nm (145 in. lbs.). The adjustable hardware on the proportioning valve does not include the height sensing valve. Drain your brake system to remove the air, bring down the car to finish the job on the ground and drive to check that the brakes are working well.
