The first thing to do with the front brake rotor is to instal them without removing and replacing and inspect the disc brake pads beforehand. Pump the brake pedal several times to set the pads to the brake rotor while lower the vehicle. Next, readjust the brake fluid level in the reservoir if required and do a road test, bringing the car to a halt numerous times to make sure the brake pads contact the rotor.

How to Service and Repair a Brake Rotor on Dodge Grand Caravan?

Before servicing or repairing your front brake disc, jack your car using either jackstands or a frame contact type hoist. Take off the front wheel and tire and then unscrew the two bolts that hold the disc brake caliper adapter and brake caliper to the steering knuckle. Be sure to slowly disconnect the caliper and adapter from the steering knuckle as a single piece; then hang it out of harm's way with wire or a bungee cord so it doesn't apply stress on the hose. After that, unhook any retainers from the wheel mounting studs and take the brake disc straight off them. Make sure the disc is back on the hub and the bearing before lining up the brake caliper and adapter over the disc. Place the adapter above the steering knuckle and fasten it in by using the two mounting bolts and turning them to 169 Nm (125 ft. lbs.). After inserting the wheel and tire, begin tightening the wheel nuts halfway following the right sequence, then go back and tighten them further to the specified 135 Nm (100 ft. lbs.). Place the vehicle back onto the ground.
