First, lift the car and put it on stands and then take off the mounting nuts, wheel and tire. If you are removing both strut assemblies, note left or right to prevent any parts swapping. Since the left and right side wheel speed sensors are routed differently, the left bracket mounting screw is installed from the rear and the right one is installed from the front. After that, take out the screw that holds the wheel speed sensor routing bracket to the strut's mounting flange. When taking out the nut from the stabilizer bar link, hold the stud with an open-end wrench to avoid it from rotating. Before removing the stud, attach the stabilizer bar link permanently and remove it. Bolts joining the strut assembly to the knuckle have serrations and should not be turned off as they are removed. First, hold the bolt heads on the left strut still as you remove the two nuts, then take out the bolts with a pin punch. To install the right strut, do the same steps. When you've finished, take out the
Wiper Arms and cowl grille from the cowl plenum, then remove the three nuts connecting the strut assembly upper mount to the strut tower and lift out the strut assembly from the car. To remove the strut assembly, use the correct disassembly procedures.
