Before touching the right side catalytic converter, let the exhaust system cool down. Lift up the vehicle with a hoist and then take out the exhaust system. Undo the nut connected to the right pipe and the extension pipe band clamp before taking away the right side conversion pipe. Vehicle adjusted, remove the air cleaner plus air inlet hose from the car. Remove the 3.5L engine's SRV vacuum reservoir and control valve by accessing it at the right rear of the motor. Unplug the downstream
Oxygen Sensor from the car's connector and take the sensor out of the pipe. Loosen the V-Band clamp on the
Exhaust Manifold and remember you cannot use it again. Take out the converter from the engine area. When installing, set a new V-Band clamp onto the exhaust manifold outlet, but before holding it in place by the T-bolt. Secure the catalytic converter to the open end of the manifold using the V-Band clamp if necessary, stretching it if required and tighten the T-bolt. Put the vehicle up again and attach the right side converter extension pipe so that it doesn't touch the body; set it in loosely. Make sure the vehicle is backed down, the underbody and engine compartment components have proper access and then tighten the clamps. Secure the V-Band clamp to 11 Nm (100 in. lbs.), set the downstream oxygen sensor into place and attach the electrical connection. Secure the SRV vacuum reservoir and control valve assembly on the 3.5L engine, after that put on the air cleaner assembly and its air inlet hose. Raise the vehicle a final time to secure the extension pipe band clamp at 61 Nm (45 ft. lbs.) and also the nut connecting the extension pipe to the transaxle bracket at 47 Nm (35 ft. lbs.). Download the exhaust again and lower your automobile to finish the process.
