Dodge Intrepid Cruise Control Servo Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Service and Repair a Cruise Control Servo on Dodge Intrepid?
    A:
Remove the negative Battery Cable as the first thing to do when service and repair the cruise control servo. After taking out the bolts from the servo bracket, separate the electrical cables and the hose from the connectors. After that, remove the two nuts connecting the speed control cable and mounting bracket to the servo and then take off the servo mounting bracket. Pull the cable away from the servo to see the retaining clip and then remove it. When mounting the servo, ensure the throttle is all the way open, slide the sleeve opening on the end of the cable over the servo pin and put the retaining clip in place. Attach the vacuum tube and power cable to the controller on the servo. With the servo studs in place in the screw holes, put the nuts on and tighten them to 6.7 N.m (60 in. lbs.). After that, mount the servo and bracket, fasten them in place with the bolts and nuts and reattach the negative battery cable.
