  Make sure the pressure inside the fuel system is released before you continue. Take out the negative Battery Cable from the battery, then take off the upper Intake Manifold. Disconnect the fast connect line for fuel at the Fuel Rail and be sure to write the cylinder number on every fuel injector electrical connector. Then, take all the electrical cables from the fuel injectors and disconnect them. Take out the mounting bolts for the fuel rail, but leave the fuel rail hanging on a few mounting pins nearby, while you gently flex the fuel rail and injectors to loosen the seals without prying or applying a lot of pressure. Carry the fuel rail off the cylinder heads so that any leftover fuel can be put into a suitable storage container. Make sure you install each new fuel injector at its original place by marking or tagging them beforehand. The next step is to release all retaining clips from the fuel injectors sitting on the fuel rail.

  Look at all the O-ring seals on the fuel injectors first, changing any worn-out ones since the Blue O-ring goes on the Fuel Rail side and the Green O-ring on the cylinder head side. In case you're only replacing individual injectors, put the other injectors back in their correct spots. Drop a thin amount of clean engine oil on the O-ring of each fuel injector before putting it in the rail and securing it with the clip. Be sure the retaining clip securely attaches the fuel injector to the fuel rail during installation. You must add torque to the fuel rail bolts which are the same as the lower Intake Manifold bolts, in a set order. Insert the fuel injector assemblies into the slots in the cylinder head, sit them firmly and tighten the rail bolts to 28 Nm using the order provided in the manual. Link the connectors from the fuel injector electrical harness to their injectors and make sure to tighten the quick connector at the fuel line to keep leaks from occurring, since fuel dripping onto a warm engine can easily catch fire and cause harm. Attach the fuel rail to the quick connect fuel line and connect all of the electrical parts of the fuel injectors. Replace the upper intake manifold, join the negative Battery Cable and drive the nut down to 5 Nm (45 in. lbs.). After that, perform the scan tool ASD Fuel System Test which applies pressure to the fuel system to detect any leaks.
