Raising and supporting the vehicle is the first step in servicing and repairing the Proportional Purge Valve. Take the valve off the bracket, disconnect the electrical connector and vacuum tubes from the valve. For installation, again make sure TOP is facing the correct direction and reinstall the valve to the bracket. Then, connect the electrical connector and vacuum tube to the valve, then lower the vehicle. If it is not installed correctly, the valve will not operate.
