How to Remove and Install an Ignition Lock Cylinder on Dodge Neon?

The end of the housing opposite the ignition switch is where the ignition lock cylinder should go, so your key can turn to Accessory, Off, Unlock, On/Run and Start settings. The first thing you need to do is disconnect the negative battery cable. Turn the key cylinder to the RUN position, press the ignition lock cylinder retaining tab inside the shroud and then pull out the ignition lock cylinder. When installing, push the key into the ignition lock cylinder and set it in the run position which will press down the retaining tab. The shaft of the ignition lock cylinder needs to match up with the housing's socket, so make sure the socket is Run. Guide the ignition lock cylinder into place, finding its grooves in the housing and push it in so the tab peeks out of the hole. Switch the key to Off, take it out and then fasten the negative cable back onto the battery.
