  When servicing or repairing the wheel cylinder, start by using a brake pedal holder to press the brake pedal past the first inch, then keep it pressed so brake fluid is not drained out of the master cylinder during the process. Raise the vehicle and remove the rear tire and wheel assembly as soon as you can. Separate the flex hose going to the rear brake, pull the drum out, take the shoes off the support plate and discard any that leak brake fluid or grease before installing new ones. Turn the bolts that hold the brake wheel cylinder in and lift the cylinder from the support plate. On installation, slip on a fresh O-ring at the matching edge where the wheel cylinder meets the brake support plate. Line up the wheel cylinder with the assembly so both are square. Put the wheel cylinder onto the brake support plate and fasten the bolts to a torque of 13 Nm (115 inch lbs.). Start the flex hose fitting onto the wheel cylinder by hand and then tighten the tube nut to a torque of 17 Nm (145 inch lbs.). Fit the rear brake shoes to the brake support plate, if needed and then set the rear Brake Drum onto the rear hub. After reattaching the tire and wheel assembly, tighten all wheel mounting nuts to a minimum of 135 Nm (100 ft. lbs.). Adjust your rear brakes, lower the entire vehicle, take the brake pedal holder off and bleed the wheel cylinder as appropriate. Finally, take a drive to check that the brakes are working properly.
