Dodge Nitro Brake Master Cylinder Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Properly Bleed a Brake Master Cylinder Before Installation on Dodge Nitro?
    A:
Blowing the air out of the Brake Lines should be done prior to installing a new brake master cylinder on the vehicle. A bleed tool pack should have bleed tubes and a wooden dowel, and bleed tubes can be made from a brake line. Secure the brake master cylinder in a vise as the first step. Following this, place the bleed tube onto each cylinder outlet and attach the tube end into the reservoir one at a time. After filling the reservoir, place a wood dowel in the cylinder and we compress the Pistons into the cylinders using a hammer. Release the pistons and let them push the air back up, which keeps bleeding till no more air bubbles can be seen in the fluid.
