  Before removing the exhaust manifold, first take out the negative battery cable and raise the vehicle. Then, take out the bolts and nuts holding the Exhaust Pipe to the engine exhaust manifold and lower the vehicle down. Once that's done, remove the exhaust heat shield and then unscrew the bolts, nuts and washers that hold the manifold to the cylinder head. To change the left exhaust manifold, first take off the negative cable from the vehicle's battery, then lift up and stabilize the car, take out the attachment bolts and nuts securing the exhaust pipe, lower the vehicle, disconnect the exhaust heat shields and remove the bolts, nuts and washers from the cylinder head and afterwards take out the manifold and its gasket.

  For installation, if the nuts pull the studs out, ensure that new studs are inserted with the sealant applied to the rough threads to keep water from getting inside. Attach the engine exhaust manifold and gasket over the two cylinder head studs and place the conical washers and nuts on those two studs. First, put the additional conical washers and nut-bolt sets on the center arm and tighten to 18 ft. lbs., then move outward and tighten the remaining bolts and nuts to 25 Nm (18 ft. lbs.). Following this, put on the exhaust heat shields and bring the vehicle up so it's on its stands, but don't tighten the heat shield bolts too much to prevent issues. Following that, fit the Exhaust Pipe to the manifold and attach it with the needed hardware, tightening each one to 34 Nm (25 ft. lbs.). To install the exhaust manifold on the left, follow the same steps, rules for securing studs and rules for securely fastening the heat shield like you did before on the right.
