Dodge Nitro Release Bearing Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to install a release bearing on Dodge Nitro?
    A:
Prior to putting the clutch release bearing in place, lubricate the crankshaft Pilot Bearing using Mopar high temperature bearing grease or a similar alternative, scraping some of the grease on the shorter end of a small flat blade screwdriver and then inserting it into the pilot bearing through the clutch disc hub. After that, treat the splines on the input shaft, the bearing retainer's slide area, the fork pivot and the release fork pivot surface with lubricant. After that, install 1 on the new release fork 2 and insert it into the transmission.
