When replacing the front steering knuckle, lift the car, take off the wheel and tire and then work on the front steering knuckle. Then, take out the caliper adapter and support the
Brake Caliper so the hose is not damaged. Following this, remove the disc brake rotor and the wheel speed sensor. If your vehicle uses four-wheel drive, take out the nut on the axle shaft. Take out the outer tie rod nut and then use tool 9360 to detach the outer
Tie Rod End from the steering knuckle. After that, take out the lower
Ball Joint nut and remove the lower ball joint from the suspension arm with tool C-4150A. After that, loosen the upper ball joint nut and take out the upper ball joint using a tool 9360. Check the seal side surfaces of the upper ball joint, lower ball joint and outer tie rod knuckle bosses for deep grooves or scratches; if any are present, replace the steering knuckle. After that, remove the knuckle from under the vehicle and, when necessary, pull off the hub/bearing.
