  Kick the pedal up as you carefully hold it in place, then remove the plastic retainer and the cable core wire from the upper end of the arm. After that, separate the cable core cable at the pedal arm and take out the clip that holds the cable to the dash panel. After that, take out the air box from the Throttle Body and pull the cable off the clip attached to the dash panel. Bring the cable housing through the hole in the dash and into the engine compartment. After you open the throttle all the way, disconnect the pin from the end of the throttle cable on the throttle body bellcrank. Press the tab on the release side of the plastic mount with a small tool to detach it from the bracket and then slide the plastic mount rightwards to remove the throttle cable. For mounting, put the cable plastic mount into the throttle body bracket and arrange it so that the tab meets the bracket's hole. With the throttle all the way open, slide the pin of the throttle cable into the throttle body bellcrank. Insert the cable housing into the rubber grommet, push it upwards through the opening in the dash panel and then add the metal clip to secure the cable to the panel. Place the throttle cable core wire through the top of the pedal arm and press the retaining part on the cable as far as it can go until it snaps. Afterwards, attach the air resonator tube onto the throttle body and use the accelerator to make sure there is no binding before you start the engine.

  The ETC system in the 3.7L V-6 engine replaces the traditionally used throttle cable. On the 4.7L V-8, first put the accelerator cable plastic mount into the bracket and move it until the tab fits into the hole. Over the cable cam, move the accelerator cable until it attaches to the Throttle Body bellcrank pin and clicks back on. Move the rubber grommet from the plastic part of the cable and push it into the dash panel so it fits. With the rubber grommet over the hole in the dash panel, push one end of the cable housing into it and pull it through. Clip the cable to the dash panel from your seat, then fit the core wire of the throttle cable into the hole on the pedal arm. Place the cable retainer clip into the hole on the pedal arm and push it until you hear it click. Then shove the cable into the dash panel clip until it clicks. Make sure to install the air resonator tube onto the throttle body and then check for binding when you push down on the accelerator pedal before starting up. A broken Accelerator Pedal Position Sensor can be replaced by attaching the cable to the old APPS, seating the cable housing in the rubber grommet and slot and then clipping the cable to the dash panel from inside the passenger compartment. Place the core wire of the throttle cable into the top of the pedal arm and slide the clip of the cable retainer into that opening until it snaps securely. Before you turn on the engine, press down on the accelerator pedal to ensure it moves freely and if required, use an electronic tool to clear any APPS DTC's in the PCM.
