Dodge Ram 1500 Trunk Lock Cylinder Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Install and Code a Trunk Lock Cylinder on Dodge Ram 1500?
    A:
The first thing to do is to place the lock cylinder (2) and keep it stable by using the screws (1). After that, mount the latch release handle (3). If your lock has a coding system, take off the plastic cover on the code cylinder. Slot the main intended key into the lock and move it to 180 degrees or a little further so the lock will code in the 6 or 7 o'clock setting. Once you're done, turn the key to the right until it's near the 3 o'clock position and you should feel the lock engaged. Next, put the key into the vertical key-out position and pull it out.
