Recommended tools for brake hose service and repair are preformed metal brake tubes, but double-wall steel tubes can be used in the event that no factory tubes are found. Metal brake tube kinking or twisting is prevented using special tools and only special flaring tools should be used to create ISO or double inverted flares. To prepare an ISO flare, use a Tubing Cutter to cut off the damaged section and then use a Inner Burr tool to remove any inside burrs. Then, put the tube nut on the tube, insert it into the flaring tool and make sure it is right at the top of the tool before tightening the bar. Put the fitting adapter of the right size onto the flaring tool yoke screw and lubricate it. The next step is to align the adaptor and yoke screw with the tube and turn the yoke screw until you can't twist it any more.
