How to service and repair the Door Lock Switch on Dodge Ram 1500 Van?

Before dealing with the door lock switch, unplug and move the negative pole of the battery aside. Pull off the inner trim panel of the front door and cut the wire connector that goes between the door lock switch pigtail and door wire harness. Through the access hole, turn the door lock switch counterclockwise so it comes free from the back of the lock cylinder and then disconnect the retainers that keep the lock switch wires to the inner door panel. Before installing, fit the lock switch into the drilled hole from the door and fix the main device to the back of the lock. Put the retainers on the pigtail wire harness, link the pigtail wire connector to the door wire harness connector, attach the inner trim panel and finish by attaching the negative cable to the battery.
