How to service and repair the harmonic balancer and crankshaft pulley on Dodge Ram 1500 Van?

Disconnecting the negative battery cable should be your first step before services and repairs on the harmonic and crankshaft pulleys. Bring out the fan and fan drive and then remove the accessory drive belt and the vibration damper pulley. Afterward, take out the vibration damper bolt as well as the washer at the end of the crankshaft. Attach the same bar and screw from the Puller Tool Set C-3688, then run two bolts with washers through the puller to take the vibration damper off the crankshaft. Place the vibration damper onto the crankshaft and push it onto the crankshaft with the tool from Puller Tool Set C-3688. Attach the crankshaft bolt and washer using 244 Nm (180 ft. lbs.) torque and after that fix the crankshaft pulley bolts at 23 Nm (200 in. lbs.) torque. After that, place the serpentine belt and both the coolant system fan and shroud, then reconnect the negative cable to the battery.
