For repairing or servicing the hood hinge, if changing both sides remove the hood along with the cowl grille and both hinges, if replacing just one hinge, first remove only the cowl grille. After that, release the bolts that fasten the hood to the hinge arm and hold the hood away from the rest of the engine before removing the connection bolts on the hinge arm. After removing the microswitch, get rid of the retainer from the hinge pivot, then remove the hinge from the pivot. For the installation, pour a bit of engine oil over the hinge pivot, fix the hinge to the pivot and put on the hinge retainer. Place the bolts for the hood where the hood panel holes and hinge arm holes meet and use them to fasten the hood to the hinge. After you have taken out the side support, put in the cowl grille again.
